Staying with us in August?
There is lots to do in Cornwall this August for families and guests at the Hotel or our Self-Catering Apartments

We’ll start by looking at some of the simply stunning National Trust houses and gardens, including the spectacular St. Michaels Mount set on its rocky island and crowned by medieval church and castle - just a short fifteen minute drive from the hotel. Trelissick Gardens look stunning in the Cornish summer with its superb collection of exotic plants. Take a trip to the Trerice Elizabethan manor house, near Newquay, with its fine interiors and delightful garden. Or journey into the Victorian period with a visit to the Lanhydrock house and wooded estate - with her extensive servants’ quarters and kitchen.

Explore the historical significance of Cornwall through the wonderful English Heritage castles and ancient villages; experience life in the Iron Age, some 2000 years ago at the impressive Chysauster Ancient Village, journey into the 13th Century at the Launceston and Restormel Castles, or explore Henry VIII’s castles of St Mawes and Pendennis that protected the Falmouth harbour from the Spanish. If you’re feeling a little more romantic with tales of Merlin and Arthur - take time to visit the stunning historic ruins of Tintagel Castle.

Performing this month at the cliff top Minack Theatre are Peer Gynt, The True Story of Martin Guerre, The Tempest, The Scarlet Pimpernel and the two part His Dark Materials which is played out over two shows for a spectacular theatre visit you’ll never forget.

No holiday in Cornwall is complete without a visit to the Eden project, congratulations to the Eden project, winners of a prestigious Silver-Gilt medal at the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show in July.
